2022 Convention and AGM Announcement

We are pleased to announce that planning for the 2022 Convention and AGM is well underway. This year we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary and will be holding the convention September 12th – 15th, 2022 at the Georgian Bay Hotel and Conference Centre in Collingwood, Ontario.

As with previous conventions we will be conducting the Annual General Meeting which will take place Tuesday September 13, 2022, at 1:00 PM. Members will have the opportunity to receive updates on the affairs of the Association, vote on any proposed changes to the Association’s By-Laws, and vote for members that are running for seats on the Board of Directors.

On Tuesday September 13th we will once again hold an Open Forum where behind closed doors members can raise and discuss any topic they wish.

Later in the evening after the AGM we will have the President’s Dinner and Awards night which includes a reception before dinner.

On Wednesday September 14, we are hosting Stakeholders Day, which will include a Guest Speaker, Panel Discussion, Trade Show, and BBQ later in the evening.

Workshops will be held on Tuesday September 13th from 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM, Thursday September 15th 8:30 – 10:00 AM, and 10:30 AM -12:00 PM. The workshops will look at current topics and issues affecting members as well as the appraisal industry and will qualify for Continuing Education credits.

What will be different from previous conventions is that members will be able to attend the Open Forum and AGM virtually as well as participate in voting. We will once again use the services of Data On The Spot Inc. and Simply Voting Software that specialize in AGM’s and elections for Non-Profit Associations.

In mid-July we will be launching a Convention App where registered members and guests will be able to access important information on events, activities, meals, hotel amenities, nominees running for the Board, participants in the Stakeholders Day, and other convention happenings.

Registration to attend the Convention and AGM in person or the Open Forum and AGM virtually is available at cnarea.ca, Member Log in.

Designated members who are members in good standing are eligible to vote in the elections, nominate, and provide their proxy should they not be able to attend in person or virtually.

Members will be voting for changes to By-Laws, current Board members that wish to run for President, and three Board seats. The incoming President and members that are elected to the Board will have two (2) year terms.

Further details regarding all activities and events will be announced as they are finalized in the coming weeks. We are looking forward to once again meeting members in person but continue to stress that participation is key to the operation of any successful association, and we encourage all of you to participate in this year’s AGM virtually if you cannot attend in person.
