2020 Annual General Meeting

As we have announced the 2020 AGM will be held virtually on September 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM EST. The meeting will be structured similarly to previous AGM’s with the membership being given updates on the financial position of the association, education, discipline, and insurance.

We will also be conducting a vote on the most recent By-Law changes which have been posted on the website and sent to the membership as well as elections for the Board President and three (3) Board positions whose term are up.

We want to remind members that given the format of the AGM members must register before hand. Also, when you go to register you will find nomination and proxy forms. These can all be found on the website cnarea.ca.

As we have done in the past, we will also be hosting an open forum. This is a closed-door Zoom session hosted by Rob MacDonald and Kevin Lonsdale. This session is open to all members other than Board members and those members that work for stakeholders such as AMC’s, Banks, Mortgage Insurers, etc. It gives us an opportunity to talk openly and privately about association and industry issues.

The Open Forum will be held the same day as the AGM, Tuesday September 15th, at 11:00 AM EST and will last one hour. As with the AGM, members will be required to register for the Open Forum and can register at hq@cnarea.ca . Registration must be submitted by September 4, 2020.

Finally, in previous years we have presented awards for Member of the Year, Candidate of the Year, as well as President’s Awards. Given, this past year and more notably the past six months, have been anything but normal we are doing something different. This year we will be having five (5) awards for Outstanding Contributions to the Association and the Appraisal Industry. We are asking members to nominate one member that they believe has made a significant contribution. Nominations are to be submitted to hq@cnarea.ca by August 31, 2020.    Please submit a short paragraph explaining why you are nominating this member, outline their contribution to the Association or the appraisal industry.

Participation in the AGM is vital to ensure that your voice is heard, and that the Association can benefit from valuable input from members. Please refer to the AGM information on the website for complete details for registration. We look forward to everyone’s contribution.
