COURSE COMPLETION PROCEDURE

This course is focussed on the daily practice of ethics; the ethical treatment of your family, clients, and friends. A critical part of ethics is decision making; accepting the challenges we face in staying true to our core values, and how to manage the choices we make to improve the consequences for ourselves and those with whom we live and work.

In Part 1 of this course, we will help you to have a better understanding of ethics, how they fit with your own values, and how to articulate them in your daily life.

In Part 2 we will put all of this into a business context, discussing business pressures and friction points; the dangers and necessities of whistleblowing; ethical advertising; product and service quality; employee rights and how to protect yourself; and finally, management, governance, and corporate social responsibility.

In Part 3 we will see how all of this is integrated into the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and Code of Ethics that governs your work as appraisers.

  1. Questions and Exercises in Parts 1 and 2 are for your own personal reference and guide.
  2. Questions and Exercises in Part 3 must be completed and submitted within 45 days of receiving the textbook to receive credit for the course. Please submit your pdf document to education@cnarea.ca.
