SENIOR Review Appraiser

The Senior Review Appraiser will get first-hand experience in the Appraisal Review process, working directly with major lenders; monitoring and reporting on appraisal review metrics and deliverables. This role will work in collaboration with all TNG departs to ensure a timely and accurate appraisal review process. Acting as a liaison between the client and appraiser network this individual will be responsible for key relationships in the industry including the international governing appraisal bodies, lender risk departments and appraisal companies. The Senior Reviewer is responsible for the monitoring training of new appraisers in the marketplace to ensure the best possible quality. The Senior Reviewer will be tasked with developing new training and mentorship programs for appraisers at TNG. The Senior Reviewer will also be responsible for the quality of appraisals and oversee the Appraisal Review team at TNG.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality assurance and control over appraisals through manual review
  • Acts as a liaison between clients and the appraisal review team at the executive level
  • Prioritize appraisal review requests and coordinate the delivery (electronically) of all reviews or summary reports to clients in a timely manner. Following all privacy and confidentially practices and procedures.
  • Initiate preliminary appraisal report reviews to verify accuracy and completion.
  • Assist in the review of new registrants for TNG
  • Responds to client head offices requests, answer any questions surrounding the review process and produce ad-hoc reporting on review reports.
  • Conducts market analysis (price and performance) to help make the best decisions surrounding property valuation.
  • Operate as a subject matter expert for operational, development or other internal initiatives
  • Operate as subject matter expert for client and appraiser quality conversations
  • Act as technical advisor on the valuation of complex properties.
  • Monitor, Analyze, and report on all appraisal review actives as requested.
  • Conduct various compliance activities to maintain the Company’s affiliated appraisers in each region current on their required license, certificates, etc.
  • Attend and participate in professional group meetings; maintain awareness of new trends and developments in the field of property valuation; incorporate new developments as appropriate.
  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and review the work plan for appraisal staff; assign work activities, projects, and programs; review and evaluate work products, methods, and procedures; meet with staff to identify and resolve problems.
  • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; recommend, within departmental policy, appropriate service and staffing levels.
  • Promote appraisal method and theory conformity among staff through research, training and day-to-day quality control.
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Membership and certified designation in an appraisal body (AIC, CNAREA) is required
  • 3+ Years experience in Appraisal, Appraisal Review or Underwriting
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field such as: Professional Appraisal and Mortgage courses, or RPA/RPAA programs considered an asset
  • Must possess excellent communication skills – written and verbal
  • Strong interpersonal skills, client-focused with a commitment to excellence
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Outlook and able to learn new technologies quickly
  • Detailed and highly organized. Data analysis skills/experience will be beneficial
  • Experience in the Real estate, mortgage or lending industry considered an asset.
  • Strong ability to problem solve, prioritize and multitask. Able to think outside the box, and see situations from a variety of perspective
  • Able to manage sensitive information and situations with discretion and tact
  • Quebec real estate and appraisal industry knowledge is a significant asset
  • Multilingual fluency (English & French) is mandatory.

Responsabilités

  • Fournit une assurance qualité et un contrôle des évaluations grâce à une révision manuelle
  • Agit comme agent de liaison entre les clients et l’équipe d’examen des évaluations au niveau de la direction
  • Donner la priorité aux demandes de révision d’évaluation et coordonner la livraison (électronique) de tous les révisions ou rapports sommaires aux clients à temps suivant toutes les pratiques et procédures de confidentialité.
  • Lancer des révisions préliminaires du rapport d’évaluation pour vérifier l’exactitude et l’achèvement.
  • Aider à la révision des nouveaux inscrits pour TNG
  • Répond aux demandes des sièges sociaux des clients, répond à toutes les questions concernant le processus de révision et produit des rapports ad hoc sur les rapports de révision.
  • Effectue une analyse de marché (prix et performance) pour aider à prendre les meilleures décisions concernant l’évaluation des propriétés.
  • Agir en tant qu’expert en la matière pour les opérations, le développement ou d’autres initiatives internes
  • Agir en tant qu’expert en la matière pour des conversations de qualité avec les clients et les évaluateurs
  • Agir en tant que conseiller technique sur l’évaluation de propriétés complexes.
  • Surveiller, analyser et rendre compte de tous les éléments actifs de la revue d’évaluation comme demandé.
  • Mener diverses activités de conformité pour maintenir les évaluateurs affiliés de la Société dans chaque région à jour sur leur licence, certificats, etc.
  • Assister et participer aux réunions de groupes professionnels; se tenir au courant des nouvelles tendances et développements dans le domaine de l’évaluation immobilière; incorporer les nouveaux développements convenablement.
  • Planifier, diriger, coordonner et réviser le plan de travail du personnel d’évaluation; attribuer des activités de travail, des projets et des programmes; examiner et évaluer les produits, méthodes et procédures de travail; rencontrer le personnel pour identifier et résoudre les problèmes.
  • Surveiller et évaluer l’efficience et l’efficacité des méthodes et procédures de prestation de services; recommander, dans le cadre de la politique du département, des niveaux de service et de recrutements appropriés.
  • Promouvoir la conformité de la méthode d’évaluation et de la théorie auprès du personnel par la recherche, la formation et le contrôle qualité au quotidien.

Qualifications

  • L’adhésion et la désignation certifiée dans un organisme d’évaluation (AIC, CNAREA) est requise
  • 3 ans ou plus d’expérience en évaluation, révision d’évaluation ou souscription
  • Un diplôme ou maîtrise postsecondaire dans un domaine connexe tel que: cours d’évaluation professionnelle et hypothécaire, ou programmes RPA / RPAA considérés comme un atout.
  • Doit posséder d’excellentes compétences en communication – écrite et verbale.
  • Solides compétences interpersonnelles, focalisé sur le client avec un engagement envers l’excellence.
  • Compétent en MS Excel, Word, Outlook et capable d’apprendre rapidement de nouvelles technologies
  • Détaillé et hautement organisé. Des compétences / expérience en analyse de données seront bénéfiques
  • Expérience dans le secteur immobilier, hypothécaire ou de crédit est considérée comme un atout.
  • Forte capacité à résoudre des problèmes, à établir des priorités et à effectuer plusieurs tâches à la fois. Capable de raisonner hors de l’ordinaire et de voir les situations de différents angles
  • Capable de gérer des informations et des situations sensibles avec discrétion et tact
  • La connaissance de l’industrie d’évaluation et d’immobilier au Québec est un atout important
  • La maîtrise de plusieurs langues (anglais et français) est obligatoire.
